The Fringe series is about a secret department in the FBI that investigates events out of the ordinary.
The largely episodic series meet up with people with extraordinary or frightening qualities or abilities. Technology or medicine is at the heart of much of what the series is about.
It is the almost scientific approach to the Fringe department, which is serious, skilled and a bit humorous at the top, that makes the episodic cases in Fringe interesting.
It means a lot that the series after a while develops into embracing parallel universes, changing timelines and more. Changes that give the characters new life, and the series new challenges.
The development leads to variation, but the core of the series always remains the same. Fringe is therefore something I appreciate very much, as one season after another does so much more than repeat the previous one.
