TWIN is a series that has aired on NRK. It has Kristofer Hivju in the lead role as both Eirik and his brother Adam. The story is set in Lofoten, where Eirik surfs and Adam rents out accommodation to tourists. The two brothers have not spoken for 15 years.
The series is a thriller and a crime with such cruel actions that it appears both brutal and funny. Much of what happens is so horrible that I have to laugh at it. Not because it is graphic, but because the coherence of the actions and mindset of those who perform them is so bold.
I enjoyed the first season of this series. It was Kristofer Hivju who was the highlight. Seeing him play two different roles, often in scenes where he plays against himself, is a joy. As an actor, he has a range that makes him believable both as serious and comical, sometimes at the same time.
In the course of eight episodes, we are served a series that is always evolving. There is just the right amount of episodes to keep this high level all the way. I see towards the end that it is possible to keep going for even more episodes. At the same time, it would have been nice if the series ended on top.
